A Busy Mum Improves Cardio-Vascular Fitness

As a busy mum and working from home, Lindsay struggled to find time to travel somewhere to exercise and travel back.  Although running seemed a good type of exercise, she had yet been able to run for more than 4 minutes before collapsing in a heap !

Lindsay contacted HH Fitness for help and Helen started a weekly programme of training to improve her cardio-vascular fitness and increase her leg strength.  Lindsay was given extra “homework” exercises to strengthen her posture and some power walking plans involving the nursery “runs” with her daughter.

In a short matter of time, Lindsay was ready for some running training, building up running and walking intervals.  Within 6 weeks, Lindsay could run 3 miles !

In the weeks that followed, Lindsay has been taken through hill sessions, speed sessions and tempo sessions to improve her running.  Helen also planned a run she could do from her home, involving a mix of hills, flat stretches and steps, which Lindsay improves each week on her own.

Lindsay will be running her first 10k race in September 2012.
